We’re happy to provide virtual activities for our Littles! In this time, young people should be able to virtually gather and enjoy new & fun experiences and make new friends! Sign your Little up for one of these great sessions for young people of all ages!

YOGA WITH GABY
As we enter the Holiday season and head toward Elections, self-preservation is a must! Lucky for us, Yoga Instructor Gaby will be leading us in a beginner’s yoga class for body movers of all ages and skill level. Reduce your stress level and practice mindfulness as we start the new month!

In honor and solidarity with Indigenous people on Ohlone (Bay Area) land and native communities all over the globe, join BBBSBA matches and staff on Indigenous People’s Day for a film screening of The Condor & The Eagle (2019). We will screen the film and use the chat box to dialogue about our thoughts and impressions.

FRIDA KAHLO: APPEARANCES CAN BE DECEIVING
Presented by a museum educator at The de Young Museum in partnership with The San Francisco Public Library, “Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving” exhibits belongings and artworks by the beloved Mexican Painter, Frida Kahlo. “Frida Kahlo returns to San Francisco 90 years after her first visit to the city, in an exhibition examining how politics, gender, trauma, sexuality, and national identity influenced her diverse modes of creativity. POETRY AND PERSONAL NARRATIVES: HALLOWEEN EDITION
In this workshop, we will explore poetry and writing as a way of expressing who you are! Participants will get a brief intro to poetry and storytelling and will have an opportunity to practice writing about identity and the masks we wear (even when it’s not Halloween). Workshop will be facilitated by Marissa May Martinez, local Bay Area playwright and poet.

KIDS’ ART ZONE
Join our virtual Kids’ Art Zone designed with Elementary and Middle School youth in mind. We are creating Fall themed positive affirmation jars! Positive affirmations are reminders and statements that help encourage, motivate, and create positive self-esteem and outlook toward others. Participants will decorate their jar for the Fall season and place written personal affirmations into the jar to turn to for daily reminders. There will be a brief opportunity for participants to share their decorated jars with the group, if they desire.

HOMEMADE CLAY WORKSHOP: SLABS AND STAMPING
Learn how to make homemade clay and use different techniques to shape, build, and make it your own. Your instructor will teach the basics of clay building and manipulation. This class will focus on slab building and stamping with natural and found materials from nature or your home. Matches have the option of buying clay online or following a demo to make homemade clay alternative using the suggested materials listed. Homemade clay will resemble what potters clay looks like and feels like. This monthly workshops series is suitable for all ages – but may require adult supervision when using the oven.

LAUNCH YOUR CAREER!
This workshop will give High School students the opportunity to discover their workplace strengths as well as identify areas in need of improvement and imagining. Participants will learn to use skills and identify qualities they already possess to land a job and excel at work. Participants will also share their desired career paths and collaborate to create a “Career Vision Board”. Overall the workshop will supply high school students with job readiness skills and opportunities to network with peers.

Step into a virtual story time guided by BBBSBA staff. This month we will read, “The Last Stop on Market Street” by Matt de la Pena an award winning Bay Area author who writes a story about a young boy taking the bus through San Francisco with his grandmother. The reading will be followed by a group activity in response to the book.
